Transformers 3 Chicago filming official details
I have just secured an official 4-page document from the production company helping Michael Bay’s crew film their scenes for Transformers 3 in Chicago, IL.
Interesting details of the document include:
- Stunt men in the form of precision skydivers will be in action during July 16th & 17th
- Additional Chicago filming locations include Trump Tower / Trump Plaza, Hotel 71, and 35E Wabash
- There will be low-flying helicopters involved with the filming
- Mayor Daley is aware of the shoot and it has been completely condoned by him
- Michigan Avenue will be closed to pedestrian traffic starting 8PM July 15th to 5AM July 19th
- The main point of interest on Michigan Avenue will be the round-about near the Chicago River near the Wrigley Building and Pioneer Court

[...] Collecticon.org has provided a new update on the filming details when Transformers 3 invades Chicago, IL and more or less closes the Magnificent Mile for three days from July 15th to July 19th. DW Studios Production has sent out a four page document to local businesses detailing Transformers 3 plans for the area which the website has images of. The production perimeter is not open to the public, partly to allow for smooth filming but also for safety reasons. If you live in the area, probably just best to not attempt to drive anywhere that weekend as traffic is going to be ugly. [...]
Nice! but all the pictures link to the same large image
Betty White’s Scene from Transformer 3:
“You are the technomancer known as Grim Reaper?” The White haired elderly woman looked up from her modified ipad, disconecting the datacable from her purse in a simple motion, and stared at the large Autobot drawing attention to her in the outdoor Café.
“Oh dear…a giant threatening robot…and me a little old lady.”
“You tried to hack my sentience…I think my friends would like to talk to you.”
A beeping sound came from the purse.
“What was that?” The Autobot had been taken by surprise.
“Hack…” The Autobot collapsed on the Ground and converted into a car. “…Sucessful.” Stuffing her ipad in her purse the elderly hacker walked toward driver’s side of her new Car.
I fixed that! Thanks for letting me know.

Come on Collection! Help out your film makers and block out the names and phone numbers. Don’t think for a second they don’t keep track of who gets those documents outside of their offices and they have some really nice lawyers working for them.

[...] According to an official document from a production company helping out with the shoot, Michael Bay and the team are hitting (and I do mean hitting) Chicago in mid-July. There’s going to be precision skydivers and low-flying helicopters, and shooting at such locations as the Trump Tower and Plaza, Hotel 71, 35E Wabash, and the roundabout near the Chicago River beside the Wrigley Building and Pioneer Court. Also, Michigan Avenue will be closed to pedestrian traffic from July 15 to 19. (You know, I’m actually visiting Chicago around then. I’d say I’ll try and do some snooping, but really I just hope filming doesn’t interfere with me getting to watch my Cubs lose to the Phillies. I’ve got to have priorities here.) You’re right Hollywood Guest, I have edited the first photo to omit the contact information. It was an oversight and has been rectified as best it could be.

It’s a good thing you decided to blocked out the contact info. As a location assistant you would not believe how difficult you just made that person’s job by not blocking out the contact info initially. If your going to post things like this in the future please respect their privacy next time.
Yeah I agree… had I even realized there was contact information there I would’ve done it ahead of time. Complete negligence on my part.
