Botcon 2012 Metalhawk mold – I changed my mind

Botcon 2012 Metalhawk could be the Terradive mold

I claim this sand in the name of Spain!

So I am reneging on my claim that Metalhawk would be the Cyclonus mold. I still think that is a wonderful option and would like to see it, but now that the Overlord choice threw me for such a loop, I am thinking of alternatives. So here we are: Terradive, my favorite Transformer toy of 2010, and actually ever. I think this has a great chance of becoming Metalhawk along side of the Banzaitroned-out Overlord.

But really we’ll all find out soon enough.

I half-started a top ten toys of the year for 2010. I never finished it because I didn’t have nice photos of each of them, plus I was gushing way too much. This fictional chart would’ve been topped by none other than deluxe TERRADIVE. This is seriously the greatest Transformers achievement to date. It’s is a flawless figure. It includes the most crazy transformation and successful two modes I’ve ever seen. Plus it’s only roughly $10. YOINK!

So why has such an amazing figure not been redecoed yet? There are clearly many feasibly options for such a fantastic specimen. We can all continue to be patient and pray, hope, and wonder as we shed our tears.

New characters / figures expected in Transformers Generations

After checking out the bios found on the back of boxes displayed at Toy Fair 2010 this afternoon, I found out that there are some character names that are un-accounted for.

These include ROTF scout Oil Pan and ROTF deluxe Terradive and Tomahawk.

Revenge of the Fallen Jetblade biography text

Capital letters used for an entire word tend to represent character names in Transformer bios. Whether these are new characters that will become toys or not remains to be seen.

If the NEST Alliance toy bios are anything to reference, then these other names should represent other characters intended to come out during the upcoming line of toys. Ironhide’s bio heavily featured Bludgeon while Dirge’s also featured characters that came out in the same line. Deluxe Ironhide’s bio similarily features Hailstorm, who was featured in the Hasbro presentation.

Habro typically divvies out a ton of product info at events like this, but they are wise enough to always keep at least a few figures waiting in the whings.  If Terradive, Tomahawk, or Oil Pan end up gracing our store shelves, you heard it here first!
