It is the opinion of this blogger than Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was a horrible movie. I am one of the biggest Transformers fans out there, and the fact that I saw my favorite characters of all time in the ‘flesh’ on the big screen couldn’t even suspend my disbelief with how thrown-together the dialogue, plot, and over-all substance of this “film” was. All I could think about was how stressful and horrible the productions schedule, deadlines, and fix-its must have been while throwing the scenes together to make the movie.
Apparently we can expect even more of these types of problems to plague Transformers 3 as the personal issues between director Michael Bay and actress Megan Fox create fireworks even before principle photography begins. Today it was revealed by a variety of sources that Megan Fox will not be a part of Transformers 3. Regardless of the reasons behind such a revelation, it’s just sad.
One of the underlying factors that has kept Transformers alive for so long amongst its fans is the rich story surrounding the mythos and character involved. With Megan Fox gone, we not only get a wrench thrown into the storyline developed over the past two movies, we also lose a lot of the appeal the first movie had. It’s fun to see characters develop over time, and now we have to just forget Mikeala ever existed, only to see Sam get along with some new hot mama. It’s just not going to work right.
I’m sorry to say that it looks like we haven’t skipped a beat since Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I expect an even looser story, even less-realistic characters, and probably lamer explosions.
Essentially, I expect to have more of the real world production problems sprout up within major aspects of the film. The lack of Megan Fox is the first sign to expect a bad movie. However, since I doubt the film is completely written (was the last one even finished?), they should have no problem fitting someone new into the story.
Good luck everyone, don’t fuck this one up as bad as the last one.
