Today marks the end of filming for the cast and crew of Transformers 3 in Chicago, Illinois. After more than 9 weeks of filming (increased from the initial 6), the cast will move on to film in Detroit, Washington D.C., and beyond.
This message was left on the Transformers 3 extras hotline starting Thursday afternoon:
Hi everyone with heavy hearts we are leaving the Chicago area. As of right now there is no further filming scheduled for the Chicago area. We would like to thank each and everyone of you for your time, energy, patience, and hard work on the set.
We will all think fondly of you and we hope to all cross paths again. Thank you everyone.
To everyone that crossed paths with the crew or the set during their regular daily activities in the city, it was a nice dose of irregularity and excitement. The city is much better off for the experience and from the tone of the crew, our visitors are saying the same.
It is sad that the production ended on such a sad note with the injury of miss Grabriella Cedillo during the second-to-last day of filming, but at this point we must move on. Collecticon will continue coverage of the injured extra’s condition during the coming days. Fox News is reporting that she is currently in a medical induced coma after brain surgery. These accounts seem wildly speculative to me, however.
With the production wrapped up in Chicago, let’s take a look back at where it all started for us would-be extras – the incredibly long line for the Transformers 3 casting call.
God speed everyone.
